Professionally cleaned. No stains, animal or smoke. Double tied knots upon two foundation layers for lifetime of durability, millions of knots overall. There is antique wear and low pile over the centuries, buy if OK and wanting a real antique with bygone Old World charm and craftsmanship; a clean durable beautiful value piece for another lifetime of use. Natural dyes oxidize over the century giving lighter and darker tones of major colors as seen images, an affect of the vegetable dye oxidation called 'abrash' by collectors.
