This Japanese Tea Ceremony Zen scroll was written by Ueda Gizan Roshi (1891-1972), the 510 head of the Daitokuji Temple in Kyoto. It is signed “MURASAKI NO GIZAN”. “Murasaki no” refers to the Daitokuji Temple and indicates the scroll was written while in residence.
