Seller Notes: “These look very good overall as shown and as found. They have minor finish wear with some spotting ... “These look very good overall as shown and as found. They have minor finish wear with some spotting and darkening. These seem to have been originally used for candles with some modern modifications so they could be used as electric lighting; there are no wires or electric sockets. On the backs of the sconces, near the bottoms, there are shallow channels cut into the bronze, likely for positioning of wires. Inside each cup, there is a brass nut with a hole in it; the holes lead into the curved arms and out to the backs. I have not tested the holes with wires to see if they go all the way through, but my assumption is that the holes in the cups go through the arms and out the back sides. Each sconce has some modern screws on its back side. The bronze components are held together with screws and some need to tightening. On the backs there are some areas where the bronze is not smooth, from casting. Please review the description and photos, and ask any questions prior to bidding or buying.”
